What is Spider Solitaire

Spider Solitaire is one of the most popular and classic card games in the world, renowned for its engaging and brain-teasing gameplay. In this pristine digital version, players can experience the authentic tabletop card sorting challenge right on their screens. Your objective is to arrange cards in descending order from King to Ace of the same suit to clear them from the board. Whether you are a beginner looking to relax or a seasoned solitaire master seeking a mental workout, this game caters to all skill levels by offering customizable difficulty modes, including 1-suit, 2-suit, and the famously challenging 4-suit option. The clean, classic green felt background and crisp card designs provide a focused environment. With helpful features like unlimited undos, smart hints, and an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, Spider Solitaire is the perfect way to train your brain, improve logical thinking, and unwind during your free time.

Key Game Features

Multiple Difficulties: Choose between 1-suit (easy), 2-suit (medium), or 4-suit (hard) modes to match your skill level. Classic Gameplay: Enjoy the authentic Spider Solitaire rules and mechanics that card game lovers know and adore. Helpful Tools: Use the unlimited undo and hint features to strategize and overcome tricky card layouts without frustration. Clean Interface: Play in a distraction-free environment with a classic green background and easily readable card faces. Brain Training: Sharpen your logic, memory, and problem-solving skills with every single game you play.

How to Play & Master

The goal of Spider Solitaire is to remove all cards from the table by assembling them in the tableau into complete descending sequences from King down to Ace (King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace). When the game begins, cards are dealt into ten columns. The top card of each column is face-up, while the rest are face-down. You can move a single face-up card or a valid sequence of cards. A valid move requires placing a card onto another card that is exactly one rank higher, regardless of suit (e.g., placing a 7 of Spades onto an 8 of Hearts is allowed). However, you can only move a group of cards together if they are in strict descending order and of the same suit. When a face-down card is exposed at the bottom of a column, it automatically turns face-up. If a column becomes completely empty, you can move any card or valid sequence into that empty space. When you run out of moves, click the stockpile in the corner to deal a new row of ten face-up cards onto the board. Note that you can only deal new cards if there are no empty columns on the tableau! Once a complete sequence from King to Ace of the same suit is formed, it will automatically be removed from the board. Win the game by clearing all eight sequences!

Game Controls

Drag & Drop: Click and hold a card (or a valid sequence), drag it to the desired position, and release. Auto-Move: Simply click or tap a card to automatically move it to the best available valid spot.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why can't I move a group of cards together? A: You can only drag multiple cards at once if they are in perfect descending order AND they all belong to the exact same suit. Q: Why won't the game let me deal new cards from the stockpile? A: According to classic Spider Solitaire rules, you cannot deal a new row of cards if there is an empty column on the board. You must place at least one card in every empty slot first. Q: Can I change the difficulty level? A: Yes! Open the "Settings" or "Suit" menu to choose how many suits you play with. 1-suit is easiest, 2-suit is medium, and 4-suit is for true experts.
